Marc Marquez on the Desmosedici? “He’s the strongest on the grid, but Bagnaia, Martin and Bastianini will give Ducati a lot of joy” – Jorge Lorenzo

Ducati have long been interested in signing Marc Marquez but the Honda Racing Corporation have managed to entice the eight-time world champion to renew contract after contract.

But with the dominance of Ducati in the recent era and the departure of his brother to Gresini, where he will have a GP Desmosedici – which he said he loves -, the rumors of a potential transfer of the Spaniard to the structure of Borgo Panigale have grown, with a look to the future. Jorge Lorenzo, who left Yamaha for Ducati and then Ducati for Honda, doesn’t believe Marquez can leave Honda for Italian motorcycling so soon, as he made clear in statements to DAZN:

– [Pecco] Bagnaia, [Jorge] Martin and [Enea] Bastianini will still give a lot of joy to Ducati.

Ducati now has the new reigning champion, Bagnaia, in its official team and has renewed the range with one of the strongest promises of MotoGP: Bastianini. It’s two young Italians who boost the factory team and at this stage it seems hard to believe that Marquez could ever head for the Italian structure. Jorge Lorenzo preferred to say that the above trio still have a lot to give to Ducati at the expense of betting on a very award-winning rider, a bit like what he did when he entered Jorge Lorenzo.

The Mallorcan, who is now a TV commentator for a Spanish broadcaster, praised the drivers of the Italian structure and Desmosedici, but when asked to comment on who the best drivers on the grid are, he chose not to include Ducati riders: “The strongest is Marc Marquez. In second place, I put Fabio Quartararo’.

Recall that Paolo Ciabatti has already spoken of the possibility of having Marc Marquez (and not only), saying at this point that the structure already already has their “the champions of the future”.
